Privacy Policy

Effective date: April 10, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Lane Guides(“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use our website (https://laneguides.com) and our mobile application (together, the “Service”).

Lane Guides is an unofficial companion app for League of Legends and Valorant. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Riot Games, Inc.

1. Information We Collect

Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address, username, and an encrypted password. If you sign in with a third-party provider (e.g. Google), we receive basic profile information from that provider.

Game data you provide. When you link a Riot account or look up a player, we query publicly available data from Riot Games APIs (summoner profile, match history, ranks, statistics) and cache it to provide the Service.

User-generated content. Guides, builds, posts, comments, clips, and other content you create or upload.

Device and usage data. We automatically collect IP address, device type, operating system, app version, language, and usage events (pages viewed, features used, crashes). This is used for analytics and security.

Cookies and similar technologies. We use cookies and local storage to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and measure usage via Google Analytics 4.

2. How We Use Information

  • To provide, operate, and maintain the Service.
  • To authenticate you and secure your account.
  • To fetch and display game statistics, builds, and match data.
  • To personalize content, such as recommended builds and guides.
  • To analyze usage, diagnose crashes, and improve performance.
  • To communicate with you about updates, security notices, and support requests.
  • To enforce our terms and prevent abuse or fraud.

3. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in these limited cases:

  • Service providers that host our infrastructure, send email, or provide analytics (e.g. hosting providers, Google Analytics). They may process data on our behalf under contractual obligations.
  • Riot Games APIs when we make requests to fetch public game data you asked us to display.
  • Legal reasons if required by law, subpoena, or to protect rights, safety, or property.
  • Business transfers in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
  • Public content — anything you post publicly (guides, comments, clips, profile) is visible to other users.

4. Data Retention

We retain account data for as long as your account is active. Cached public game data is retained only as long as needed to operate the Service. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at support@laneguides.com.

5. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards (HTTPS, hashed passwords, access controls) to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Children’s Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (e.g. GDPR, CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at support@laneguides.com.

8. International Transfers

Your information may be processed in countries other than your own. We take steps to ensure any transfer is protected by appropriate safeguards.

9. Third-Party Services

The Service relies on Riot Games APIs and Data Dragon / Community Dragon CDNs to display game assets and data. Use of those services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. Lane Guidesisn’t endorsed by Riot Games and doesn’t reflect the views or opinions of Riot Games or anyone officially involved in producing or managing League of Legends or Valorant.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and revise the “Effective date” above. Material changes will be communicated through the Service where appropriate.
